Purpose of this "book"

This "Book" will document the policies, procedures and processes of the Drug Court program for the 33rd Judicial District.  It will grow in "chapters" as the program is developed and implemented. All publicly available documents will be available on this website and the procedures discussed in this area.

There is also a separate forum for discussion of the operation of the Drug Court.

An initial explanation:

This is not a "drug impact" court. It is an extension of the probation regimen going beyond traditional roles by combining intensive treatment with a collaborative effort by the judge, prosecutor, defense attorney, treatment provider, community supervision officer and law enforcement.

It is for felony offenders either on probation or entering via pretrial diversion.
